Hoi Hup Realty secures go-ahead for High Holborn redevelopment

Singapore-based real estate developer Hoi Hup Realty has received the consent from the City of London Company for ‘High Holborn’, a main office-led redevelopment undertaking, according to a June 18 launch.

The revitalised site will also feature flexible floorplates, wellness areas and porches. The property development is targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and EPC ‘A’ rankings, following the release of smart systems and low-carbon materials all over the site.

This notable undertaking follows four years of adjustment by Hoi Hup, attained through a series of calculated acquisitions that brought jointly around 250,000 sq ft of office.

Wong Swee Chun, director of Hoi Hup Realty, mentions: “This milestone is the result of substantial consultation and partnership, and we’re incredibly grateful to the City of London Firm for allowing our maiden system to take this favorable step forward today.”

“This is precisely the type of plan we want to see even more of in the Square Mile– best-in-class office that keeps London globally affordable while also providing public spaces that everybody can savor,” includes Tom Sleigh, chairperson of the City of London Planning and Transportation Board.

The redevelopment, guided by construction and property consultancy Gleeds, Make Architects, subleasing advisors Savills and planning professionals Newmark, is expected to provide over 370,000 sq ft of brand-new Grade A workspace. Designed for modern occupiers, the structure is also set to consist of a brand-new cultural venue, the ‘Holborn Dome’, along with a public pocket park at Southampton Buildings and boosted ground-floor features and permeability.

The project focuses on the regeneration of a 1.4-acre island site comprising three buildings at 322 High Holborn, Holborn Gate and 44 Southampton Structures.

The scheme is going to take place at a place beside Chancery Lane underground stop and will be just within minutes of Farringdon Station and the Elizabeth Line. Hoi Hup states the plan is readied to be the “western portal for future project” and will be just one of the most major new office consents in the Square Mile.
